The Library and Information Science (LIS) Program within the School of Communication and Information (SCI), College of Social Sciences, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (Honolulu, Hawaiʻi) invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor (F-3) to join our American Library Association-accredited program. This is a permanent, tenure-track, full-time, 9-month, faculty appointment to begin August 1, 2025, subject to position clearance, availability of funds, and satisfactory performance. We are seeking a candidate with expertise in areas such as digital archives, digital libraries, digital literacies, Indigenous or regional (e.g. Asia/Pacific) knowledge systems, content management systems, public librarianship and/or information technologies. We are also seeking a candidate with a commitment to teaching and advising students from diverse and underserved backgrounds.
We advance the practice of our goal to become a Native Hawaiian place of learning by focusing on relationships: working collaboratively to conduct research, designing learning experiences, and engaging with and supporting Hawaiian, Indigenous and local information practices.
