Job Title: Coffee Roaster

Job Description:

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Coffee Roaster to join our team. The ideal candidate will deeply appreciate the art and science of coffee roasting, have a keen sense of taste and smell, and have a strong commitment to quality. As a coffee roaster, you will be responsible for roasting high-quality coffee beans and developing unique roast profiles to deliver an exceptional coffee experience to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Roasting Coffee Beans: Operate and maintain coffee roasting machines to roast coffee beans according to specific profiles, ensuring consistency and quality in every batch.
  • Quality Control: Monitor the roasting process closely, adjusting temperature, airflow, and time to develop optimal flavor and aroma profiles. Perform quality checks, such as cupping and tasting, to ensure the coffee meets our standards.
  • Inventory Management: Manage green coffee bean inventory, ensuring proper storage conditions and tracking usage to minimize waste.
  • Recipe Development: Experiment with new roast profiles and blends, collaborating with the team to create unique offerings that align with our brand and customer preferences.
  • Machine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of roasting equipment and machinery to ensure proper operation and longevity.
  • Record-Keeping: Maintain detailed records of each roast batch, including roast profiles, temperature, time, and any adjustments made.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the production team, baristas, and management to ensure the supply of freshly roasted coffee meets demand.
  • Compliance: Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and procedures.

  • Strong sensory skills with the ability to distinguish different flavors, aromas, and roast levels.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in roasting.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage inventory effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for coffee and continuous learning about new roasting techniques and trends.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and handle heavy bags of coffee beans.
