Job Description JOB TITLE: Juvenile Diversion Officer
DEPARTMENT: Fayette County Court of Common Pleas, Juvenile Division
REPORT TO: Court Administrator
SALARY RANGE: $20 - $24.50/hr Depending on education and/or experience.
HOURS: Full-time 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., or as assigned.
Qualifications 1. High school diploma or GED.
2. Some knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and the flow of documents throughout the Court and the Clerk's Office.
3. Highly organized, detail-oriented, produce accurate work, and able to multi-task and function efficiently in a high-volume environment.
4. Ability to read and copy records precisely; arrange items in alphabetical or numeric order; assess questions and provide information; sort items into categories according to established methods; complete routine forms; and lift up to 20 pounds.
5. Knowledge of common office practices, procedures, and equipment.
6. Proficiency in operating a personal computer and using, or being able to learn, Microsoft Office products such as Word, Outlook, and Excel, and case management system.
7. Ability to effectively and professionally communicate verbally and in writing in English to diverse audiences.
8. Pleasant personality and ability to interact and maintain effective working relationships with judges, employees, and others conducting business with the Court.
9. Professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for the position and the work environment expected of a representative of the Court.
10. Demonstrated dependability, reliability, and excellent attendance record.
11. Patience, objectivity, maturity, effectiveness under stress, initiative, and adaptability.
12. Prior completion of the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy or similar training or willingness to become OPOTA trained (40hrs of training paid for by the Court) in armed courtroom security.
