Opening soon! Downtown boutique hotel now hiring Host staff for our new American bistro concept. We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated individuals with a friendly demeanor and ability to work well in a team environment. Excellent communication skills and a courteous manner are a must for speaking with guests, answering phone inquiries, and making accurate reservations. Key duties will be to meet and greet guests warmly as they enter the restaurant and walk them to their seats. If you are a team player who is well-organized and always willing to help out coworkers, we’d like to meet with you today! Responsibilities:

• Learn the menu, including the daily specials and accurately describe how dishes are prepared
• Acknowledge all customers warmly immediately upon arrival to ensure their first impression of the restaurant is positive
• Direct customers to their seats, ensuring tables are set properly with enough tableware for each diner, water glasses are filled, and menus are sanitized
• Assist with clearing plates off tables and getting tables ready for the next guests
• Handle booking of reservations, be quick to solve seating problems, and troubleshoot any phone inquiries from customers

Qualifications:

• Must be able to handle a fast-paced atmosphere with periods of standing on feet for an extended length of time
• Some restaurant, hospitality, and/or food services industry experience is preferred
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent GED and should speak English well
• Must have excellent communication, customer service, and organization skills, as well as the ability to deal with customer requests in a courteous, efficient, and timely manner
