Position Summary Currently, we are conducting interviews for a Campus Security Officer position at a prestigious High School Campus in San Francisco. The right Campus Security Officer candidate will be an experienced Security professional who can take on the responsibility of providing security, safety, and excellent customer service for students, parents, administrators, and visitors at our client's campus. A good Campus Security Officer candidate will have excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills. The primary responsibility of the Campus Security Officer is to ensure the client(s) is provided with an inviting atmosphere, and high-quality services to protect the school campus property, the administration, and students.
A Campus Security Officer for Barbier Security Group provides a diverse range of essential services to the High School community. By patrolling on foot, they serve as a visible presence to deter unwanted behavior and activities, while also offering assistance and information.
NOW HIRING: - Shifts: Swing (Tuesday and Wednesday)
- Salary: $27.50 per hour
Essential Functions: - Deterrence: Campus Security Officers will patrol assigned areas on foot, utilizing their uniformed presence to deter unauthorized access and discourage unwanted activities on the school campus.
- Observation and Reporting: Vigilantly monitor for any suspicious behaviors or safety concerns, promptly reporting them to school authorities using established protocols. Must accurately describe individuals, vehicles, and other relevant identifiers.
- Addressing Unwanted Activities: Firmly yet courteously address any breaches of school rules or low-level disturbances to ensure a safe and respectful learning environment for students and staff.
- Hospitality and Customer Service: Proactively engage with students, staff, and visitors, offering assistance, guidance, and a friendly demeanor. Provide directions, school information, or assistance as needed, embodying the school's welcoming and inclusive spirit.
- Community Relations: Foster positive relationships within the school community by maintaining mature and professional interactions with students, faculty, and parents. Share pertinent information and address concerns to maintain a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed Incident and Property Condition Reports, along with daily summaries of shift activities, to ensure comprehensive documentation of any incidents or notable occurrences on campus.
- Professionalism: Uphold a positive and professional demeanor at all times, adhering strictly to school and BSG policies, procedures, and legal standards. Demonstrate integrity and reliability in fulfilling the responsibilities of the role, reflecting the high standards of the school community.
Qualifications: - Eligibility to work in the United States
- Excellent interpersonal and written skills; bilingual is a plus
- Professional and appropriate appearance; well-groomed with no visible tattoos or piercings
- A minimum of one year prior experience working with children or adolescents in a school campus setting
- Ability to maintain professionalism and appropriate demeanor when working with adolescents
Requirements: - Ensure compliance with company and client policies and procedures and be willing to improve performance
- Ability to stand and walk for majority of shift on various surfaces (concrete, carpet, etc.)
- Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions with provided inclement weather gear
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports. The ability to speak other languages is a plus
- Must maintain a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures and exhibit overall professionalism
- Must be dedicated to serving the staff and students
- Ability to maintain clear boundaries with students and strict confidentiality with clients
- Ability to create a compassionate and empowering connection with visitors, students, and members of the faculty
- Ability to remain calm in crisis situations, de-escalate situations, and promote positive communication
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Core competency to effectively relate with a culturally and racially diverse group of staff, students and visitors.
- Be a minimum of 21 years of age
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Valid BSIS Guard Card License
- Reliable form of transportation
- Basic computer and smartphone proficiency
