Based at the Customer’s site in Fort Worth Texas, the F-35 Sustainment Supply Operations and Logistics Modeling Team (Systems Engineer Sr.) candidate will analyze the sustainment environment using technical analysis skills and will generate reports that demonstrate the results. Further specifics on this Senior Systems Engineer role are provided below:
I. FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: Conduct detailed analyses of the global sustainment environment using logistics analysis software and modeling tools (i.e. Systecon OPUS Suite). This will include modeling:
- Annual spare part purchases to support the delivery of new aircraft
- Spare part requirements for aircraft deployment scenarios
- Spare part requirements for new warehouses
- Repair and replenishment quantities for failed parts
II. FACTORS DESCRIBING THE JOB: Knowledge – Frequent use and/or application of basic principles, theories and concepts of supply chain logistics.
Problem Solving – Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.
Discretion/Latitude – Works under general supervision. Follows established procedures.
Impact – Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects. The inability to achieve results and/or the implementation of erroneous decisions or recommendations may cause delays in program schedules and could result in the allocation of additional resources.
Liaison – Primarily with internal company contacts. Infrequent inter-organizational or external customer contacts on routine matters.
III. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Data Collection – Collect, compare/contrast, and reconcile multiple sources of data, highlight any data quality issues
Data Understanding – Refine and compile data into an actionable format for stakeholders and senior analysts; become an expert in your area of responsibility
Data Preparation – Process data for input into supply chain modeling software
Modeling – Execute supply chain models using commercial software such as OPUS10 and SIMLOX in order to determine optimal quantities and placement of spare parts as well as to determine supplier performance metrics
Evaluation – Work with senior analysts to verify that modeling outputs are correct; work with stakeholders to validate that the modeling approach taken meets the needs of the business
Reporting – Create reports summarizing model inputs and assumptions, modeling methodology, and modeling outputs; prepare and give presentations to stakeholders as needed
Required Education, Experience, & Skills - BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or related discipline
- 4+ years of experience with relevant BS or 2 years of experience with relevant MS
- Experience with the MS Office Suite; candidate should be comfortable using pivot tables and built-in functions to manipulate large datasets in MS Excel.
- Programming experience in Python, SQL, or other program language
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to present technical information to a non-technical audience
- Experience in reconciling multiple sources of data
- A self-starter that is eager to learn new things and take on new challenges
- Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship or Permanent Resident status
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills - Experience with Systecon Software Suite (OPUS, Simlox, Catloc) or other deterministic supply chain optimization tools
- Advanced knowledge of Python and SQL
- Understanding of Supply Chain Management practices within the F-35 Program
Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $83900 - $142600
